- Red Start Review added: 2018.01.29★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆At the start of my dealings with Chaplins, I asked the garage to fit a cambelt only.The head mechanic advised me to buy the timing-belt kit, which he said he would fit. I then gave my car into Chaplins a few days later. I booked my car in for approximately 0900 and by 1230, I had a phone call from Chaplins to say that my car had broken down during a test drive following their work.
The brand-new parts I purchased for Chaplins to fit: a timing kit and a dephaser pulley. These were purchased from a genuine Renault garage (receipts kept).
Chaplin would not even meet me half-way to cover the cost of fixing the engine. He took no responsibility for his businesses malpractice. It took me two days to get into contact with Mr Chaplin.
Mr Chaplin also said the mechanic that was working on my car was not qualified, and he was the only qualified one.
